The herbs in Spring tea are refreshing with their heat-clearing properties this tea is suitable for drinking throughout spring and summer seasons. Makes a delicious iced tea and can be mixed with green tea (Long Jing dragon well, gunpowder, pu-erh or oolong tea are the best combos)

The main ingredients are Chrysanthemum (Ju Hua) and dried Forsnthia Fruit – known as Lian Qiao in herbal medicine. This is balanced by dried licorice root (Gan Cao), Chinese Mint (Bo He) and Mulberry Leaves (Sang Ye).

Flavors of this tea are: Earthy, Woody and Strong.

Brewing hint:

If the flavor is too strong for you, add more water when brewing you can add more hot water to dilute the tea brew or use less herbs to create a taste suitable for your palate. If you like it strong, use 1-2 teaspoons per cup in the pot per time.

About the creator:

Marie Hopkinson is the owner and creator of these herbal tea blends, via the Perth-based company, Metro Health and Medicine. Marie has been a Chinese Medicine Practitioner since 2001, embracing the many self-help aspects and foods-as-medicine aspects of Chinese medicine, Marie developed these herbal tea blends for everyday drinking use. These herbal tea blends are not intended to be used as medicine, or as a treatment, but are a healthy and enjoyable way to get the benefits of herbal tea in your life.
Marie started her journey in Chinese medicine right out of high school, simply curious about studying she was delighted intrigued by the first class enough to make it her profession and passion, some 27 years later. Marie has been practicing since 2000, completing an initial 3-year course in Chinese Medicine at the Perth Academy of Natural Therapies in WA. At 22 years old, Marie went to  Hangzhou China for additional training in the Hangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital (Hangzhou Shi Zhong Yi Yuan), working in a Chinese medicine hospital as an intern in Herbal medicine, acupuncture and Tuina Chinese massage. This early trip sparked Maries love of China, inspiring a desire to return and experience more of the natural health Chinese medicine culture. As of 2024, Marie has visited the different provinces of China over 13 times.

Marie also developed a passion for teaching Chinese medicine, studying further to gain a Master of International Health at Curtin University in 2006, and teaching Chinese medicine, public health and social sciences over the years at Colleges in Perth, WA.

Most recently, Marie began studying a third degree in Herbal medicine, through the Institute of Classics in East-Asian Medicine (ICEAM), from 2016 to 2018, and now exclusively practices pulse-based herbal medicine, which is all Han Dynasty based herbal formulas.
Marie is passionate about the effective practice and understanding of Chinese Medicine and enjoys the opportunity to educate patients about the benefits of self-help aspects such as diet therapy, and the passion for medicine seeps into her careful selection of food-based herbs in the herbal tea blends found in the Metro Health Herbal Tea Blend Range.
